- Is this a case of intentionally failing to get a joke? I thought that was my job. — Carl 10:02, 29 Jun 2005 (CEST)
Johan: Is "This page intentionally left blank" grammatically corect? Shouldn't there be an is or a comma after page? (07:29, 15 Dec 2005 (CET))
- To me, the implicit verb is "has been", as in "This page has intentionally been left blank." However, it doesn't seem wrong in my eyes to omit the verb here. I think it's a bit like signs reading "road closed" and the like: they're simply generally accepted short forms. Strangely, there's also a slightly more formal, governmental look to them. — Carl 11:32, 15 Dec 2005 (CET)
- Johan: Are you imlying that Jonas is a bureaucrat? (13:04, 15 Dec 2005 (CET))
- No. — Carl 16:01, 15 Dec 2005 (CET)
- Jonas: I am most certainly not a bureaucrat, but it would be fun watching you try to prove that I am. Also, the entire sentence is a quotation from Physics Handbook. Anyway, why is the word bureaucrat a link? — Jonas 16:06, 15 Dec 2005 (CET)
- Another example is pun intended, which certainly has nothing to do with bereaucracy. — Carl 09:09, 16 Dec 2005 (CET)
