Jonas: Can you really invoke a judgement concerning when discussion is over? Can't you just vote no if you dont like it? — Jonas 17:45, 10 Feb 2006 (CET)

Jonathan and I had a discussion about it before he invoked the judgement, and came to the conclusion that you can invoke judgement about whether the discussion is over. Quoting from r111: A reasonable time must be allowed for this debate. The proponent decides the final form in which the proposal is to be voted on and, unless the Judge has been asked to do so, also decides the time to end debate and vote. This is simply a case when the Judge has been asked (by himself) to do so. — Carl 17:52, 10 Feb 2006 (CET)
Johan:I was just going to quote that same paragraph from r111. Anyway, I think this is silly, Jonathan has had all the time in the world (or something very close), to discuss this, in any case I will probably vote against the judgement.
— But thou hast not seen it yet.
— Nay, I'll grant you that, however, if the judgement is "no, we're not done", I will vote against it. Furthermore I advice everyone else to do so too because I consider this an abuse of being the potential judge. (18:00, 10 Feb 2006 (CET))

Johan:

  1. What has the occassion of the scores update anything to do with this? The rule about the scores only says that you can't start voting unless the scores correct, not that you can't stop discussion. And clearly, the discussion had ended.
  2. The reasonable time in this case is the time between the proposal and when Carl changed the status in the voting table, the rule was proposed 2006-01-08 and Carl updated the table on 2006-02-09. If one month isn't a reasonable time i don't know what is, a year? And Matt joined the game at 2006-01-20, that's plenty of time to make a comment.
  3. The only reason for you to do this is that you are not happy with the proposal as it stands and just now realized that you have to do something about it.

Over and out. (20:24, 10 Feb 2006 (CET))
