Johan 17:11, 17 Mar 2005 (CET): How should the voting take place? I would like it to be easy to follow who proposed rulechanges and who voted what. I don't want to use history, I think a table would be a good way to present it. Something like:

Proposal Joan Doe Wilbur Gilbert Result
Rule 102 should be mutable Proposer Yes No Accepted
Rule 102 should be stricken No Proposer No Rejected
New rule: Rule 306 - yes Proposer Pending
I suggest we use Accepted or Ratified insted of Applied and Rejected instead of Denied. Carl 17:36, 17 Mar 2005 (CET)

Someone needs to update the rules page. I propose that the proposer ;) is the one to do it. I also would like it if we could have a few classes to use in the table cells insted of using colors as I did now. (maybe this should be on a meta page like Talk)

Okay. Do you mean "update before we start the game" or "update during the game"? I added the classes .accepted, .rejected, .yes, .no and .proposer. Please use <del> tags when you delete things, like this Carl 17:36, 17 Mar 2005 (CET)
Johan: I meen during the game. I updated the first row of the table to support the classes (I kept the styledeclarations in the second row to make it clear what I had in mind). I also changed the names as per Carls suggestion. (I'm also curious as to why you (Carl) choose to make deleted items stand out more than regular text.) -- 18:13, 17 Mar 2005 (CET)
I uploaded the latest carl.css file. I also found it extremely ugly with those background colours for <del>, so I removed them... the usage stems from a time when I made a lot of files where the differences were the important aspects. Carl 18:45, 17 Mar 2005 (CET)

I propose we use one page per rule change proposal, all under the Nomic directory. Example: http://masak.org/carl/mediawiki/index.php?title=Nomic/Proposal_301 Carl 18:45, 17 Mar 2005 (CET)

Johan:I second that, great for discussion, also, a table of all rules in effect would be great (and some way to mark mutable and immutable rules). I have updated the rulesproposal table to reflect Carls new proposal. -- 09:58, 18 Mar 2005 (CET)
Maybe just write This rule is [im]mutable at the top of every rule article? I wonder if the first column in the Table shouldn't just be Proposal 301, i.e. a reference to the article about the proposal... Or at least include it — I like that the title is there too. Carl 17:19, 18 Mar 2005 (CET)

Johan: Should we create a subnamespace for the game? I think we should, something like Nomic/Game 1. -- 09:58, 18 Mar 2005 (CET)

Yes, definitely. This will require some moving around. Maybe not call it Game 1 but something like Game 2005-03-25 (your starting date may vary). But I don't know why we're not using real namespaces. To me, Nomic:Game 1 (and later, Nomic:Game 1/Rule 518) makes more sense. Carl 17:19, 18 Mar 2005 (CET)
Johan: Ok, I didn't know about namespaces in wikipedia (I thought a subpage was a namespace), so that sounds like the way to do it. -- 13:52, 21 Mar 2005 (CET)

Johan: Sould we wikify the starting set of rules in some way. I dont know if it's neccessary, but we could put the result of this discussion in the [I]. Or maybe we should play first and see what happens. -- 10:03, 18 Mar 2005 (CET)

Um, there are advantages as well as disadvantages with wikifying (I suppose you mean "creating a separate page for") every rule in (I). Main advantage: they are separate and easily accesible. Main disadvantage: it's tedious. Carl 17:19, 18 Mar 2005 (CET)
Johan: Yes, every rule should have its own page (I took that for granted), what I ment was: should we adapt the rules to wiki playing? -- 13:52, 21 Mar 2005 (CET)
Ah, by "wikify" you meant to say "adapt to wiki play", not what the word really means. :) Now, answering your intended question, I don't think it's necessary. Though we could see what changes have been made to accomodate email/forum play, and determine if any of that is applicable to wiki play. Carl 15:05, 21 Mar 2005 (CET)

I have moved the player and rule pages into the subnamespace Nomic:Game_2005-04-02. My two questions now are: Are we set to start? Who begins? — Carl 22:07, 1 Apr 2005 (CEST)

Ok, answering my own second question: I interpret the rules as saying that Bjarni starts. — Carl 22:27, 1 Apr 2005 (CEST)
Bjarni: Crud. And I didn't say anything important. 23:29, 1 Apr 2005 (CEST)
Det är OK, choose any language you want, as long as you provide an English translation for the rule proposals. I also suggest that we move the discussion more or less entirely to IRC and maybe also the proposal's corresponding Talk pages once the game has started. Och jag skrev inget viktigt. — Carl 10:14, 2 Apr 2005 (CEST)
Johan: CRUD: Create Retrive Update Delete. — 13:50, 2 Apr 2005 (CEST)

I have created a scores page, almost making the players page useless, were for the fact that on the latter, players are listed in the order they joined, whereas in the former, they are listed in playing order. So both can stay, for now. — Carl 22:45, 1 Apr 2005 (CEST)
