Falls on January 19 each year. Dedicated to making it known that allowing assignments in programming languages is the root of many of the current problems in the state of today's programming practices.

Assignments presuppose a stateful view of programs instead of a stateless one, and the former is much more difficult to debug, analyze or parallelize.
