Fem kinesiska texter

From Carls wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

Policy

Det är inte mycket kvar av den här kursen. Helst två texter varje vecka alltså. Gärna tre. Tid ägnad åt detta räknas inte in i Femton timmar kinesiska i veckan, bara själva översättandet till kinesiska.

En kompis

I have a friend who's always late for everything. He gets up late in the morning, falls asleep late in the evening, shows up at parties and gettogethers when everyone's ready to go home, and makes important phonecalls and appointments in the last minute. He was even born three weeks too late!

My friend is neither lazy or stupid, he graduated with excellent grades and went on to become an astronaut. He entered a regime of physical and mental exercise to be able to withstand the harsh conditions in space. Finally, he was elected as the most apt candidate for the 2057 mission to Mars, an honour bestowed to very few, even in our time of relative wealth and prosperity.

On the day before the launch, my friend set three separate alarms so that he would be sure not to oversleep. But something went wrong, maybe there was an electrical malfunction or perhaps he was just too sleepy, and he ended up missing the launch altogether. For weeks afterwards he was down in the dumps, because he had missed the opportunity of his life.

Nowadays, he works as a garbage man. In that line of work, people don't mind too much if you're a little late. Sometimes people ask him about his life as an astronaut; he doesn't answer but he looks very sad. We tried to cheer him up by holding a party in his honour, but he didn't show up until the food was all eaten up.

En svensk högtid

In Sweden, we celebrate Walpurgis eve, in commemoration of an English missionary in Germany, who became a nun and who later was canonized to sainthood. The festivities commemorate the translation of the relics on May 1, and historically witches and other occult folks celebrate on the evening before, because on the day of the saint, they will be banished and so they have one last wild feast around the bonfire.

But nowadays, people only celebrate Walpurgis eve as an excuse to get really drunk.

Grattishälsning till 庆宁

Happy Birthday! Hope you have a wonderful birthday and get many congratulations from friends and family. These are the warm wishes from Uppsala.

I'm getting to learn more and more Chinese, so I now dare write this short note in Chinese. Hopefully it's not altogether wrong and that you can read it. :)

Regards,
Carl

祝你生日快乐! 我希望你生日过得很奇妙, 也希望很多朋友、亲人祝贺你。 这是来自乌普萨拉的祝福。

我中文学得越来越多, 所以我敢用中文写这个贺词。 但愿我写很不太错。 ^_^

致意,
Carl

En date

This is a true story. I like to cook good food, and especially like to invite people home for dinner. Sometimes I invite home girls whom I find particularly interesting. This is of course a source for both excitement and anxiety, since no matter how well one plans things, anything can happen during a dinner with some girl you barely know.

A few years ago, I had a neighbour who I thought was cute, and whom I wanted to treat to a dinner. We even talked about meeting sometime to have food, and shortly after that I slipped a note into the letter slot in her door, inviting her to dinner the next Monday.

Having received no answer on the Monday evening, I still didn't know whether she would show up or not. Still I prepared an elaborate meal of crêpes filled with mushrooms. Finally, when the food was done, there was a ring on the door. I opened, and there she was. "Hello," I said. "I hope you like mushrooms."

The rest of the evening was very nice, with my good food and her good company. It was nice to know that at this time in life, people can invite each other to a date like that, without too much fuss.

Several years later, a bit embarrassed, she told me that she doesn't really like mushrooms.

En dag i mitt liv

Every morning, I like to get up early. Even if I don't wake up early every morning, I still like the best those days when I do. If I want to be able to wake up early there is only one thing I have to do: I need to fall asleep early. But that is very difficult, because staying awake is too easy.

I don't eat breakfast at home, but instead bike over to the place where I work. My work is not far from my home, it only takes five minutes, maybe less. In my office I have the necessary things for making a most delicious breakfast: different types of nuts, and different fruits. Often, I eat breakfast while sitting at the computer. But lately, I've eaten breakfast while reading a chapter from Colloquial Chinese.

At eight o'clock, I bike over to Engelska Parken. Engelska Parken also is not far, it only takes two minutes! Usually, I remain there until late afternoon, though sometimes I go home to eat lunch, and it also happens that I return to my office.

No matter how tired I am, I want every day to make a real dinner. It's important to eat well. After that, I try to stop reading interesting books and go to sleep.
